Construction Photos: Two

Groundbreaking! What a wonderful day. The weather could have been a little warmer, but it didn't rain and we had a great turnout for the event. Civic leaders, staff members, community volunteers, and several of our biggest donors were there to see the long anticipated moment when the construction would "formally" begin. Amongst the donors were nearly all of the John and Lorraine McAdams family. These generous and foresighted individuals combined their resources and donated $700,000 to the capitol campaign.

Thanks to all our many wonderful donors, we were finally able to do this:

Lorraine McAdams and members of her family break ground with a will. The family donated $700,000 to the capitol campaign in late 2010, allowing the construction to proceed this spring.

Members of the Library Board break ground on the long awaited expansion. Several members were unable to attend. Additionally, several past Board members who were instrumental to the project were also unable to participate.

Village Board members, library staff and village staff all move the earth to signal the start of construction.
